Operating requirements: Waste haulers operating in Rhode Island must register with RIRRC and comply with the Rhode Island Refuse Disposal Act (RIGL Chapter 23-18.9). Commercial haulers must also comply with the RI Recycling Act. RIRRC operates the Central Landfill in Johnston, RI — the state's primary disposal facility. Haulers transporting C&D debris must follow additional RIDEM regulations.
