Operating requirements: Waste transporters operating in Maine must be licensed by the ME DEP under 38 M.R.S. §1304. Licenses are renewed annually and categorized by waste type: A (Special/C&D), B (Municipal Solid Waste), and C (Septage). Operating without a valid license is a civil violation.
